Caring for Marbelustra® Bathroom Products

Thank you for choosing Marbelustra products from Al-Co Products, Inc. Our goal is to make sure that your bathroom sink, bath tub, or shower provides many years of beauty in your home.

A decal will be affixed to your new Marbelustra fixture, containing care and Warranty Information. Do not use razor blades to remove this sticker.

Do NOT, under any circumstances, expose tops to excessive heat such as curling irons, flat irons, and candles.

Regular cleaning with most available non-abrasive liquid cleaners or mild detergent is all that is needed to maintain the beauty of our product. Remove soap build up by using a soap scum remover. Hard water build up and difficult stains can be treated with most lime and rust removers.

  • Do not scrub with any type of harsh abrasives.
  • Do not use razor blades to remove any labels on your top.
  • Do not allow cleaner to soak in sink
  • Rinse well after using any cleaner

Polishing of Marbelustra® Cultured Marble Products

Polish your vanity at regular intervals with a non-abrasive liquid auto wax or gel gloss. This will maintain the lustrous finish and make your product easier to clean.

Matte/satin finish products do not require polishing.

Removing Scratches from Marbelustra® Cultured Marble Products

Removing Light Scratches

Light scratches can be removed by using automotive compound, which is usually white.

  1. Take a damp cloth with the compound and polish the area where scratches appear.
  2. A power buffer with the RPM of NO MORE than 1750 can be used with the compound to expedite the polishing compound.
  3. After the polishing of your Marbelustra® bathroom sink, tub or shower is complete, wax with any car wax or gel gloss.

Removing Deep Scratches from Cultured Marble or Granite Bathroom Products

Deep Scratches take a little more work, but many are repairable.

  1. Purchase 3M Wet/Dry 400 & 600 grit sandpaper. Make a small square wooden block approximately 2x3 inches. Wrap sandpaper around the block.
  2. Use small strokes and sand in the opposite direction of the scratches, keeping the paper wet. Check the area you are sanding to be sure you do not remove too much of the gel coat, as you could cause further damage to your marble.
  3. When scratches disappear, continue with the procedure described for removing light scratches.
